The US Army In the United States Army, the Infantry is considered one of the main combat
forces and serves as an important division at all times. Each Infantryman learns
to be ready at a moment’s notice to defend the country by pushing back
enemy forces during combat. •
Sniper Schools Once a soldier has been assigned to an Infantry unit, they move on to attend a 13-week course that combines the Army Basic Training and Infantry AIT (Advanced Individual Training). Most of the training happens out in the field, and there is some additional classroom training. Types of activities that happen out in the field include target practice and squad maneuvers, and even when they are not in actual training, learning new skills is always part of the job. Being part of the Infantry also means that each soldier keeps their skills at the peak, as well as always being prepared. As an enlisted soldier of the Infantry division, each person is able to list what types of jobs they would like to have, but the Army has the final decision as to what is needed in particular. Skills that work well for soldiers in the Infantry decisions are: •
Working well as a team member Learning jobs and skills with an Infantry division can be advantageous
for life after the military once a soldier enters the civilian workforce.
Aside
from getting training in working as a team with discipline, there
are many jobs in the federal, state and local law enforcements. Many soldiers
with
Infantry training go on to become police officers, as well as many
other career choices.
