Air Force Reserves

Training for the Air Force Reserves is very similar to the Air Force, except there is a difference in time of service. Each soldier that goes through the Reserves undergoes the same training and learns the same skills to make them well prepared whenever they are needed.

During six weeks of basic training, soldiers can expect to learn a variety of skills no matter what division they will be attached to, including:

• Physical conditioning
• Individual and Flight Drills
• Law of Armed Conflict
• Human relations
• National Security
• Marksmanship
• Field Training

Once training is over, reservists are ready for duty whenever they are called and no matter what situation they are needed for. Reservists are constantly working alongside the Air Force in daily missions all over the world, and many directly help ongoing incidents.

There are many categories of Reservists that are on call at a moments notice, but two in particular are ready to move anywhere, at any time. These are:

• Individual Mobilization Augmentee- Assigned to Active Duty units during wartime, in peace they report one day a month plus 12 additional days each year

• Ready Reserve- May be called up during time of war or national emergency, they must also be ready to go anywhere in the world within 72 hours

No matter what division a soldier is attached to, they must be equally trained with weapons and maneuvers in order to complete the goals. All soldiers must be prepared to be placed into any situation, since many reservists are often attached to Infantry ground units.
